§1

Key warning

You could lose all the money you invest

Don’t invest unless you’re prepared to lose all the money you invest. This is a high-risk investment and you should not expect to be protected if something goes wrong.

Altcoinlog is a media publication and does not provide investment advice. Crypto-assets are highly speculative. This warning does not list every possible risk.

United Kingdom: most crypto-asset activity is not covered by the Financial Ombudsman Service or the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. Nothing on the Site is intended as an invitation or inducement to engage in investment activity, and we do not approve financial promotions.

European Union (MiCA): crypto-asset marketing communications that appear on the Site, including advertising and partner content, have not been reviewed or approved by any competent authority in any Member State of the European Union. The offeror or the person seeking admission to trading of the crypto-asset is solely responsible for their content.

§2

Market and technical risks

  • Volatility. A token can lose most or all of its value within hours. Leverage, futures and margin trading multiply losses and can exceed your deposit.
  • No deposit protection. Funds held on exchanges or in DeFi protocols are generally not covered by deposit-guarantee or investor-compensation schemes (such as the FSCS in the UK or FDIC insurance in the US). If a platform fails or is hacked, you may not get your money back.
  • Irreversible transactions. Smart-contract bugs, hacks, or sending to the wrong address or network usually cannot be undone.
  • Loss of access. Losing your seed phrase or private key means losing your funds permanently.
  • Liquidity. Small tokens may be impossible to sell at the expected price, or at all.

§3

Scams

  • Phishing sites and apps imitating well-known exchanges and wallets.
  • Fake “support agents” and “account managers” who contact you first.
  • Pyramid and Ponzi schemes and promises of guaranteed returns.
  • “Recovery” services that charge upfront to get stolen funds back — usually a second scam.
  • Counterparty risk in P2P trades, including receiving stolen funds and having bank accounts frozen.

Altcoinlog never contacts you first

Our staff never offer investments, ask you to send crypto or ask for your seed phrase. Any such message in our name is a scam.

§5

If you have been scammed

Report it to the police and your national fraud-reporting service, and to your financial regulator where relevant. Be wary of anyone offering to recover your funds for a fee. You can also tell us about a fraudulent project at support@en.altcoinlog.com so we can warn other readers.
