When we get paid — we say so

Altcoinlog earns from subscriptions, advertising, sponsorship, and affiliate links. That is normal for media, but it creates a potential conflict of interest, so we label commercial content clearly and immediately, not in small print in the footer.

Partner content

A sponsor paid for creation and/or placement. Topic and theses are agreed with the newsroom; the final text is editorial.

Affiliate link

If you follow the link and sign up — we get a commission. It does not affect the choice itself.

Advertising

Direct advertising from a partner. The newsroom is not responsible for the content.

§2

Affiliate links

In reviews of exchanges, wallets, virtual cards, and other products we may use partner (affiliate) links. If you follow them and sign up or buy — we may receive a commission from the partner. In line with the US FTC Endorsement Guides and the UK CAP Code, we disclose this clearly and close to the links, not only on this page.

  • Pieces that contain affiliate links carry a clear notice, e.g. “We may earn a commission if you sign up through links in this article.”
  • Affiliate links are tagged with rel="sponsored" so search engines can identify them as paid links.
  • You can always open a company’s site directly by typing its address yourself — which also protects you from phishing.

What this does NOT change

Whether an affiliate program exists does not affect our editorial rating of the product. We write critical reviews of companies with which we have affiliate relationships, if there are grounds to do so.

§3

Ad formats

All native and banner formats are labeled explicitly:

  • Banners — with an “Advertising” label and identification of the advertiser (and, where local law requires it, an ad identifier).
  • Native blocks inside the feed — with an “Advertising” mark and a grey background.
  • Section / vertical sponsorship — with “Supported by N” in the section header.
  • Sponsorship of newsletter and podcast episodes — spoken / in the email header.

§4

How we label — an example

This is how the disclosure block looks in the header of a partner piece:

Partner content

This publication was created with commercial support from a partner. The topic was agreed with the newsroom; the final text is editorial. Details — in the disclosure policy.

§5

Editorial firewall

The newsroom is organizationally separate from advertising and B2B. That means:

  • Writers and editors have no KPIs tied to advertising revenue.
  • The commercial team has no right to approve editorial materials.
  • Investigations and critical reviews of clients are published under the same rules as any other.
  • The editor-in-chief can veto any commercial piece without giving a reason.

§6

Who we will not work with

  • Projects with public scam accusations and no response.
  • Projects with signs of a pyramid scheme or Ponzi.
  • Platforms that do not disclose a team and a legal entity.
  • Hype memecoins “with no product” in native-ad formats.
  • Any products that promise guaranteed returns.
  • Crypto-asset promotions that would breach the rules of the markets they target (e.g. UK FCA financial-promotion rules or EU MiCA marketing requirements).
  • “Stolen funds recovery” services and tools for bypassing KYC/AML.

§7

Author conflicts of interest

If the author of a piece holds the asset they are writing about, has a stake in the company, or receives payments from it — this is disclosed in the piece, or the author does not take the topic.

§8
