Criteria and weights (crypto exchanges)
A rating is not a guarantee or a recommendation
A ranking is an editorial assessment, not a guarantee that a service is safe and not investment advice. Check any service yourself and make sure it is lawful and licensed where you live.
- Security — 30%. Hack history and incident response, custody of funds, Proof of Reserves, 2FA, insurance funds.
- Regulation and transparency — 20%. Who runs the project and on what terms, the site’s status, public terms of service.
- Fees and terms — 15%. Trading fees, deposit and withdrawal fees, limits.
- Liquidity and asset choice — 15%. Trading volumes from independent aggregators, order-book depth, number of pairs.
- Usability and support — 10%. Interface, mobile app, support languages and response times.
- Accessibility — 10%. Deposit and withdrawal methods, restrictions for users in particular countries.

Other categories
For wallets, exchangers, ASIC miners, mining pools and scanners we adapt the criteria: for wallets — key custody, open-source code and audits; for exchangers — rates, reserves, speed and AML policy; for hardware and pools — profitability at current difficulty, energy efficiency, fees and payout stability. Where a specific rating uses a different method, the rating says so.

Data sources
- Official websites, documents and reports of the services, and regulators’ data.
- Independent market-data aggregators and proof-of-reserves reports.
- Our own tests — sign-up, a small deposit, a withdrawal, a support request — where possible and lawful.
- User reviews, as a secondary signal only: they do not decide rankings because they are easy to fake.

Partnerships
Some rated services are our partners, and we may earn a commission when you sign up through our link. This does not affect scores or rankings. Inclusion in a rating or a higher position cannot be bought.

Updates and removal
- Ratings are reviewed at least every 6 months; each rating shows its last update date.
- Unscheduled reviews follow hacks, withdrawal freezes, sanctions, licence withdrawals and other material events.
- A service is removed or flagged with a warning where there is confirmed evidence of fraud or frozen user funds.

If rating data is outdated or wrong, write to support@en.altcoinlog.com. Service representatives may send corrections, but only the editorial team decides on scores.
