How Altcoinlog works for authors and readers

A short guide: how to publish an article, what the editorial team checks, how the author profile, awards, account and subscription work. If the answer is missing, write to support from your dashboard.

§1

Becoming an author

Any registered user can write for Altcoinlog. From registration to the first publication:

  • Registration. Create an account and choose the author language (Russian or English) — your articles will be published in that version.
  • Profile. Fill in “Public profile” in the dashboard: role, short bio, specialisation, experience, contacts. After editorial review the profile appears on the site.
  • First article. “New article” → title, lead, cover, section, tags, text in the block editor → “Submit for review”.
  • Publication. The editorial team reviews the article and publishes it or returns it with a comment.

§2

Publishing rules

What an article needs to pass review the first time:

  • Value for the reader. The article answers a specific question or explains an event. Retellings of other outlets' news with no added value are not published.
  • Sources. Every verifiable claim relies on a primary source: a document, on-chain data, an official statement. Links to sources are mandatory.
  • Structure. A headline without clickbait, a lead of up to 300 characters, subheadings, at least 1,500 characters of text, a 16:9 cover, a section and at least one tag.
  • Disclosure. If you are connected to the project you write about (employment, consulting, tokens), state it in the article and in your profile.
  • Not allowed. Financial advice phrased as guarantees, unlabelled referral links, insults, plagiarism, AI-generated text without fact-checking and editing.

Editorial policy

Full standards — sources, fact-checking, corrections and AI use — are in the editorial policy. Authors follow the same rules as the newsroom.

§3

Review

What happens after “Submit for review”:

  • Timing. Up to two business days. The status is visible in “My articles” and in the dashboard activity feed.
  • Outcome. “Published” — the article is live. “Returned” — the reason appears in the dashboard; fix it and submit again, there is no limit on attempts.
  • Common reasons for return. No sources, a lead longer than 300 characters, no cover or section, clickbait headline, hidden advertising, facts that do not match the sources.
  • Edits after publication. A published article can be updated — the changes go through review again while the previous version stays on the site.
  • Comments. Authors can hide comments under their own articles. Insults, spam and advertising are hidden by the editorial team without warning.

§4

Author profile and awards

The public author page is the main trust signal for readers and search engines. It is built from dashboard data after editorial review.

  • What the author fills in. Photo, name, role, short bio, up to 5 topics, experience, education, “how I work”, contacts, professional ties.
  • What the editorial team assigns. Identity check (blue tick), editorial rank and awards. Authors cannot assign these to themselves.
  • How to get an award. Automatic awards (“Expert”, “Top author”, “1M views”) are granted by counters. Others (“Verified author”, “Researcher”) are requested in section 9 of the profile editor.
  • Awards cannot be bought. Subscriptions and advertising do not affect status. Temporary awards are removed when the condition no longer holds.

§5

Account and security

  • Password. At least 8 characters, one digit and one special character. Change it in “Security”. Forgot it — “Forgot password?” on the sign-in page; the email link is valid for two hours and works once.
  • Sessions. “Security” shows the devices where you are signed in. See an unfamiliar session — click “Sign out on other devices” and change your password.
  • Email and language. Email and author language are changed via support for now.
  • Notifications. The newsletter is toggled in “Notifications”; every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • Deleting the account. Write to support from the dashboard. Published articles stay on the site under the editorial byline.

§6

Subscription

Altcoinlog is free for news and most analysis. The subscription unlocks closed articles and editorial services.

  • What is free. News, sections, author profiles, tools, comments and the author dashboard.
  • What the subscription gives. Articles marked “PRO” and “Club”, early access to research, a closed community and access to the editorial team. Plan details are on the subscription page.
  • How to subscribe. Dashboard → “Subscription”. The current plan, term and renewal are shown there.

§7

FAQ

  • How long does review take? Up to two business days. If edits are needed, the article returns to your dashboard as “Returned” with a comment: fix it and submit again.
  • Can I write about a project I work with? Yes, if you disclose the connection in the “Professional ties” section of your profile and in the article itself. Hidden advertising is not published.
  • Why is my article not visible on the site? Published articles appear immediately. Check the status in “My articles”: drafts and articles in review are not shown on the site.
  • How do I change my profile language? The author language is chosen at registration and defines which site version your articles and profile appear in. For a second language version, contact support.
  • How do I get the “Verified author” award? Submit a request in section 9 of the profile editor. The editorial team checks an ID document, place of work and social profiles, then grants the award.
  • I cannot sign in: the password does not work Click “Forgot password?” on the sign-in page. The link from the email is valid for two hours. Authors whose articles were migrated from the old site set their password the same way.
